Dwayne Botnick

I grew up in New Jersey and proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard before building a career in the heavy equipment industry.

My love of photography began back in high school, when I first experimented with Kodak and Fuji black-and-white film and learned the magic of the darkroom. In the 50 years since, technology has transformed photography in ways that once felt like pure science fiction—but what hasn’t changed is the person behind the camera.

For me, that means chasing the quiet power of landscapes, the rhythm of the sea, the grit of street life, and the stories hidden in abandoned industrial remains.

Through photography & work

One of the greatest rewards of photography is the opportunity to share what I've learned along the way. Whether it's exchanging ideas with fellow photographers, encouraging someone just beginning their journey, or simply sharing the stories behind my images, I believe we all grow by learning from one another. We are never too old to learn, share, and be inspired.

That same philosophy has guided my professional life. I continue to serve as a business consultant, giving back to the business community that supported my career. In both photography and business, I believe experience, knowledge, and perspective become most valuable when they are shared.
